The GES Taipei Workshop 2017 on the theme ‘Addressing Challenges and Seizing Opportunities in the Digital Age’ was held on April 12, 2017, hosted by the Chung-Hua Institute for Economic Researchn in cooperation with the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. The workshop, held as part of the Germany T20 Think Tank dialogue, brought together over 100 experts from academia, business, politics and the civil society, and Malavika Jayaram, Executive Director, Digital Asia Hub, delivered an address on the topic ‘Leave no one behind but how?’.
The workshop kicked off with an opening address ‘The Digital Economy: Our Challenges’ by Dennis J. Snower, President, Kiel Institute for the World Economy, followed by addresses by Malavika Jayaram and Fen Osler Hampson, Director of CIGI’s Global Security & Politics program, on the topic ‘Better Global Governance in the Era of Digital Transformation’. This was followed by two panel discussions: ‘Dealing with Labour Market Challenges in the Digital Economy’ and ‘Shaping Digital Entrepreneurship Ecosystem’.
